This remarkable 987 Cayman race car is possibly the most sophisticated of its kind ever built, representing a substantial investment of over $400,000 in development across four years. It comes with a storied racing history, including being driven by Jack Baldwin, a multiple race winner, and has achieved significant success in the World Challenge Series with 16 poles, 32 podiums, and 8 wins.

Power comes from a recently-installed 3.4 Cayman S engine extracted from a PDK street car, which has seen just one race and a few track days, ensuring its pristine condition. The car is equipped with a GT3 Cup 24-gallon fuel tank and additional lift pumps for efficient fuel delivery. Its cooling system is enhanced with PWR GT3 Cup side and center radiators, ensuring peak performance under racing conditions.

Electronics are a standout feature, with a cutting-edge Motec C-185 dash, a custom-built harness by Goldcrest, and a PDM-30 control unit. Beyond the recent engine replacement, further drivetrain updates include a Cayman S 6-speed gearbox with Micro blue coating and an external cooler, complemented by an OS Giken Differential. A custom steel flywheel and Tilton 5.5-inch clutch ensure robust and reliable power delivery.

The suspension system is sourced from the 997 RSR, offering top-tier handling capabilities. Shock absorption is managed by custom Ohlins 5-way adjustable shocks, complete with internal sensors and blow-off valves, allowing for precise tuning to any track conditions.

Aerodynamically, the car features a bespoke one-piece carbon nose and splitter, paired with a Light Weight brand 300 carbon wing with custom end plates, optimizing downforce and stability. It rolls on three sets of BBS custom lightweight wheels, tailor-made for this specific vehicle.

The body incorporates GT3 Cup carbon doors, a custom carbon hatch, and a newly installed rear window. Preparing for the 2023 racing season, it has received a new OMP seat, harness belts, an updated race shifter, a new Lexan rear window, a fully serviced fire system, and a fresh battery. A new wrap in the style of the 2023 Porsche LMP race team adorns the exterior, with minor chips and flaws indicative of its racing pedigree.

Additional offerings include a new Motorola radio and crew headset, Lexan side windows for protection, two 5-gallon dry break quick-fill fueling jugs, a spare Ohlins damper, and a total of three sets of wheels, with one set equipped with wet tires.

This Porsche Cayman race car is not just a vehicle but a testament to high-performance racing, perfect for serious racers and discerning collectors seeking a piece of motorsport excellence.
